Artist's notes
The quote that goes with this painting is one of my favorites and a male lion with a very self-satisfied look on its face seemed to me to sum up the sentiment perfectly. The lion wasn't initially planned to be the cover illustration so later on I added an extra inch of mane on the right hand side of the painting to allow for the cover wrap-around.
