Weaver bird - The trouble with work is it's so daily.

Artist's notes
The story of the male weaver bird fascinates me. They have to race against time to get their intricate constructions of green reeds ready to impress a female before the nest turns brown. If that should happen, she won't be interested and will move on. In this painting, to emphasize the enormity of his task, I made his newly finished nest brown. It did feel a bit mean at the time, but supports the quote pretty well!
