Artist's notes
For once the animal in the painting was the easy part! The trick with getting the grass in the nest to look natural was to get it to look as though it was in various tangled layers. I worked in very small sections at a time and slowly built it up. Once I had worked out the technique, I really enjoyed doing the painting and was sorry when it was finished!
