Artist's notes
The world is full of lawyer jokes but I just couldn't resist this one and the hornbill seemed to well, fit the bill perfectly. Their dark plumage reminded me of lawyer's gowns and those giant beaks give a certain air of haughtiness. The bird on the right was deliberately painted to appear as the 'junior' of the pair, and perhaps more idealistic watching over the other.
