Artist's notes
The great bulk of the grizzly bear makes this exhausted pose all the more dramatic, tapering down to the look of resignation on the bear's face. I left white in the bear's eye to connect with the viewer and placed the text on the page to match the diagonal shape on the right hand-side of the painting.
